Good 2 Go Weekly Wine Tasting, March 9th (FRI) 5:00 – 7:30 pm & March 10th (SAT) 4:00 – 6:30 pm

Greetings G2GO tasters! We are nearing the weekend and we have a great selection of wines to pair with Spring Break and SXSW. Each wine can serve all of your needs. Whether it’s by the pool, on the porch, at the grill, visiting with friends or before the concert we suspect all of them will enhance your relaxation. We will also have a surprise 6th wine to pour! However, you will have to make the trip to enjoy this new discovery. The tasting is free and the education is priceless! Here’s the lineup:

2010 Solletico Prosecco $18 (100% Prosecco Brut Sparkling Wine from the Veneto region of Italy)
*super crisp & “light” … refined “tickling” bubbles … fresh apple-pineapple-hint of quince … drinks like $25!

2010 Stella Pinot Grigio $10 (100% Pinot Grigio from the Umbria region of Italy)
*Stella = “star” in Italian, a fine title for this wine … truly “shines” regarding taste and quality … fresh peach-yellow apple-melon … terrific!

2010 Weingut St. Urbans-Hof Riesling $18 (100% Riesling from the Mosel region of Germany)
*simply an amazing wine … outstanding vintage … an apple orchard in a bottle + a “hint of sweet” for balance … excellent!

2010 Alain Jaume & Fils “Haut de Brun” Côtes-du-Rhône Rosé $14 (dry rosé of Grenache from the Southern Rhône of France)
*dry Rosé is sunshine, a child’s laughter, the “wag of a puppy’s tail”, and friendship trapped in a bottle … bright red fruits-dry-refreshing!

2009 Cedarville Vineyards Zinfandel $21 (Estate Bottled Zinfandel+ Petite Sirah blend from El Dorado, California)
*this is “old school” ZIN … gnarly-punchy-sinister … tiny production & a G2GO favorite … boysenberry-blackberry-plums … great juice!

This week, in addition to our #1 selling Zinfandel produced by Amador Foothill Winery, we will feature three new wines sourced from the finely crafted portfolio of The Wine Frog. On Saturday, Mr. Jake Aziz with The Wine Frog will be our special guest at G2GO and will be pouring and discussing the wines. Take the time, stop in, relax, and enjoy the fruits of the vine. 2010 Cave de Saumur “Les Pouches”, Saumur $15 (100% Chenin Blanc from the Anjou-Saumur region of France)
*Chenin Blanc is one of the world’s great white varietals … great acid and fruit … fresh peach-apricot-yellow apple … very refreshing!

2010 L’Opale de Saint-Tropez, Côtes de Provence $14 (dry rosé of Grenache from France)
*I don’t care! … anytime is a great time for rosé! … super crisp & refreshing … “joy, laughter, and kindness” trapped in a bottle … terrific!

2009 Tarrica, Cabernet Sauvignon $16 (Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, California,)
*this wine is “textbook” CAB … well integrated fruit-alcohol-acid-tannin … ripe blackberry-currant-plum and barrel spice … tasty!

2007 Canals & Munné , Cava $20 (Macabeo + Xarel-lo + Parellada white blend, Brut Sparkling Wine from Spain )
*this is the Spanish version of French Champagne … ½ the $$$ … super clean with great bubbles … drinks like $40!

2010 Cedrus, Côtes de Gascogne $11 (Colombard + Ugni Blanc white blend from Southwest France)
*a repeat due to popular demand … great juice … this wine is the “other” Sauvignon Blanc … lime-grapefruit-green apple-lemon

2010 Alain Jaume & Fils, Côtes-du-Rhône Rosé “Haut de Brun” $16 (dry rosé of Grenache from the Southern Rhône of France)
*Rosé is “sunshine trapped in a bottle” … is a wine for any season … fresh, bright red fruits … a great year in Provence

2007 Cellier des Dauphins, Côtes-du-Rhône $12 (Grenache + Syrah + Mourvèdre blend from the Southern Rhône of France)
*a terrific vintage for this area of France and a super value … ripe raspberry-cranberry-black plum plus a hint of herbs and earth

Super Value Wines for the Super Bowl!

Every Friday and Saturday you can join us to sample wine with a little wine education for free at G2GO. Please invite a friend or two, stop by, and have a sip. We’ve selected wines that are perfect for everyday consumption and will compliment your Super Bowl party. No need to worry about pairing as each wine will work with the “fare” for the big game … no matter if you serve BBQ, sushi, pizza, burgers, veggies or better yet – the Grove’s food brought to your door by Good 2 Go. We will deliver the wine too! Each week our tasting theme will vary, however, the concept is always the same … good wine tastes good, but good food paired with good wine tastes great and is ceratinly GOOD2GO!

2010 Cedrus (Colombard + Ugni Blanc white blend) Côtes de Gascogne IGP, Southwest France ($11)
*do not let the grape names give you pause … this wine is the “other” Sauvignon Blanc … great lime-grapefruit-green apple + super crisp!

2010 Proeza (Touriga Nacional + Tinta Roriz + Jaen red blend) Dão DOP Terras do Dão IGP, Portugal ($10)
*again, not the normal Pinot or Merlot, however, a “hidden gem” from Portugal … ripe blackberry-black cherry-cassis

2010 Barocco (Negroamaro + Malvasia Nera red blend) Rosso del Salento IGI, region of Apuglia, Italy ($10)
*our top selling red … from grapes that predate written history … ripe plummy fruit-raspberry-cherry + a hint of spice and earth
